Publications and Subscriptions

Test reports and summary booklets, may be obtained from the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory. Individual reports are posted on this website and can be downloaded and printed at no cost. If you desire a printed copies, they are generally available within a few months of the test completion date. The summary booklet is only available in printed form; it is not available in an electronic form. The subscription service has included all reports issued during the year, plus the summary booklet, and has been sent to subscribers in early Spring of the following year. However, in the near future, the subscription service will be discontinued, test reports will be available on-line, and there may be an alternate to the summary booklet. The booklet currently contains data on all tested models that are still on the market. It is updated annually at the end of the testing season. Orders may be placed by phone, fax, or e-mail. Checks and money orders are accepted for payment, in U.S. funds only; we do not accept credit card orders. Prices include postage and handling, and 7.25% sales tax has been added to the totals below. Special delivery and air mail orders will be billed according to postage required.

Test Reports for tractors tested beginning in 1999 are available on the web. Hard copies of test reports are available for all tractors tested at the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory and scanned copies are in the University digital commons. Browse by decade to find the test number of the tractor model and year. Free Adobe Acrobat Reader required to see lists. Set printer to landscape orientation to print pages.

The University Love Library Archives and Special Collections has a collection of images and manuals for old tractors. There is a fee assessed for materials when copies are made (paper or digital), and copyright laws are observed (fees are posted on their website). The Archives are located in room 29, Love Library South, on the City Campus. You are welcome to study and use the collection in person. Contact Josh Caster at 402-472-2531 for assistance with your request.

Other tractor-related materials may be available through the University Digital Commons. The collection includes early tests and manuals. From the home page for the Digital Commons, click on Collections in the gray navigation bar on the left. Scroll down to Tractor Test Museum. You will see the areas of the collections, some of which are still under development.

UNL library also has a large photo collection of many of the early tractor tests. Click the plus sign next to Museum collections and find the Larsen Tractor Museum Collection. Contact the Lester Larsen Tractor Museum for more information, 402-472-8389. Visitors to the Museum can obtain free copies of test reports and a summary booklet, during their tour.
